Informal Combination
Informal Combination is a class that combines Show Pleasure Driving with Show Pleasure under saddle. In both of these disciplines the horse's have long, flowing manes and tails and have light, airy steps. They both should give off the feeling that they are pleasurable to ride/drive.
In Informal Combination, the horses enter the ring hitched to a two-wheel buggy. They show the flat-footed walk, trot, and extended trot both ways of the ring. Then they come in to the center. Trainers, instructors, grooms, owners and the like are called in. They unhitch the horse, wipe it down quickly, throw a saddle and bridle on it and the exhibitor remounts.
They then show the walk, trot, and canter under saddle both ways of the ring and the class is over. Informal Combination demands endurance and the most diciplined form of showing for a pleasure horse because of the demands of being ableto drive and ride with perfectedness in the same class.
